Episode #20: Alistair – From Scotland to North Carolina as a College Student

In this episode of Not an Alien, Alistair recounts his immigration journey from Scotland to the United States. Offered an elite college scholarship, he decided to try his luck in the States, and overcoming some reservations about the superficiality of American culture, found that he met with a very warm reception as a young Scotsman. With the support of a financial firm, he secured an H-1B and continued working in the U.S. on a visa for some time before he and his wife were eventually married. Now, on a green card, and the father of two adorable children, Alistair finds himself feeling very much at home in New York City, but still harboring many reservations about the immigration process.
