In this episode of Not an Alien, Kamala shares, with pluck, the story of her immigration journey from Hyderabad to Florida. With two young children, she and her husband moved to the United States to pursue MBAs and stayed on when promising professional opportunities developed. Half a world away from their family support structures, they built a new life, first in Florida, then in Indiana, and finally back in Florida again. Now, having become United States citizens and raised two sons who have gone on to success working in different capacities for the U.S. Government, Kamala and her husband maintain strong ties back to family, friends, and their roots in India, while at the same time living in the U.S. as proud Americans.
