In this episode of Not an Alien, Fe recounts her immigration journey from the Philippines to New York City. Never having imagined that she’d move to the United States, Fe found herself with the opportunity to leave her home country for America after finishing her nursing degree. Working with an agency that facilitated work visas, transportation, and housing, she arrived in the U.S. with a number of other Filipina nurses, and with determination and optimism, made her way in New York. Now married with two kids and still living in the New York City Metro Area, Fe has become an American citizen, and places great pragmatic value on the quality of life in the United States.
